this look did not come out at all how i planned it... i think because the pink shadow i used through my crease wasn't pigmented enough.  but it ended up looking pretty cool - i thought it was like a superhero mask - hence, the teenage ninja turtles reference :)

JohnJohn's choice: 'Red and Gold'

so, i asked john last night what i should do with my eyes tomorrow (today) and he said, "red... and gold" to which i replied "like Gryffindor!!" lol nerrrrrrd...

this is what i came up with:

EYES
highlight inner corners and under eyebrow using a pale gold shadow (MAC Eye Shadow in Nylon)

bright red matte shadow (Coastal Scents 88 Matte Palette) in a semi-circle along the upper lashline in the centre of the eyelid with a flat brush

same brush, deep red matte shadow  (Coastal Scents 88 Matte Palette) around the bright red to fill in the rest of the eyelid (blend together at the join)

switch to a pencil/bullet brush, using a deep, shimmery gold (Urban Decay Eye Shadow in Oraculum from Alice in Wonderland Palette), maintain the round shape of the shadow and place around the outer edge of the dark red

grab some more gold on a fluffy brush and blend out what you've just put down and soften the join between the dark red and gold.  here i pulled the colour quite a long way in toward my nose, but kept it high so that the inner corner highlight was still visible

with the pencil brush, line the lower lashline with the dark gold

blend out the top of the dark gold with your pale gold shadow, all the way around the eye, and up to the eyebrow

with a flat brush go over inner corner and eyebrow highlight with a sheer matte white shadow (MAC Eye Shadow in Gesso)

line your lower waterline with black kohl pencil (MAC Eye Kohl in Smolder) and blink really hard to transfer the colour to your upper waterline - this is easier than tightlining, where you have to pull your eyelid up and make them water trying to get the pencil on that upper waterline.  keep doing this (line and blink) until you're happy with the colour payoff.

lots of black mascara

do your eyebrows however you do them - i use MAC Brow Set in Beguile

Carry-All

-------------------------------------

i am loving lip liner at the moment!

what i do is, use a dark one around the outside of the lips, then colour in the rest and blend with a lighter one

combinations i have used so far are:

nightmoth with magenta

cherry with redd

cherry with a hot pink (non-MAC)

the superglasses are gorgeous but very sticky and the glitter in them is huge so it can feel a bit 'bitty' when you rub your lips together and reeeeeeeeally not good if you're planning on kissing anyone!

trace gold is a beautiful light blush for when you don't want anything pinky.

i'm obsessed with coygirl because it's purple-y - winner.

haven't used pink swoon yet, but it's so lovely and bright and pink!

i can't recommend Phloof! Eye Shadow highly enough - i use it as a highlight on the inner corner of my eyes and under my eyebrow, as a lid colour, as a highlight across the tops of my cheekbones, and on the very centre of my lips when wearing coloured lipstick to make them 3D and pouty = awesome-value product!

Vanilla Pigment (loose shadow) - pretty much as awesome as Phloof! but more of a yellow-y undertone , compared to Phloof!'s pink-y undertone.

wowzer... i spend a lot at MAC... ouch...

hope you are all well :) speak to you soon!

soft cut-crease with neutral colours AND hot-off-the-press CR jumper

in the photos, this make-up looks relatively natural, but in real life it's quite noticeable even though the colours are soft.
still, very wearable :)

gold eyelid (MAC Eye Shadow in Nylon)

brown-grey crease (Urban Decay Eye Shadow in Mushroom)

highlight under the eyebrow (MAC Pigment in Vanilla)

thin black liner with a long wing that follows the shape of the brown-grey shadow (MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack)

nude/peach eyeliner in waterline (Stila Kajal Liner in Topaz)

soft grey shadow under lower lashes (Urban Decay Eye Shadow in Vorpal)

Revlon ColourStay Foundation in Ivory
MAC Select Cover-Up in NW15
MAC Brow Set in Beguile
MAC Bronzer in Golden
MAC Powder Blush in Trace Gold
MAC Mineralise Skinfinish in By Candlelight
MAC Lipstick in Angel

----------------------------

brand new grey marle zippy asymmetrical jumper
(my most favourite ruby slippers singlet and brand new nudie jeans)

it's cut high at the back, which i think is cute
(and me checking to see if you can see the short back lol)

this is pretty much my only outfit from now on. love.

warning: photo heavy post...

SO i switched from my trusty Revlon foundation to one by my beloved MAC... and i was swiftly transported to skin HELL = the lack of posts.  very upsetting and irritating.

needless to say, i have swapped back to Revlon and have been waiting, waiting, waiting for my skin to heal.

i have consoled myself by purchasing make-up "for when my skin gets better" lol i will make a list for you guys in another post :)

in the mean time, i have still been wearing more make-up that what is appropriate during the day lol here are some of the looks that i was game to photograph:

NATURAL BRONZEY
(using the Stila It Girl Palette)

INSPIRED BY JANE (DAKOTA FANNING) IN ECLIPSE
mum makes a guest appearance in the background lol

ANOTHER NATURAL
(darker than the previous one and with smudged liner)

DRAMATIC CUT-CREASE
(black and pale blue/white)

INSPIRED BY ONE OF THE GIRLS IN THE MAC PRO STORE ON CHAPEL STREET
(red, purple, pink, navy)

hope you guys enjoy these and i will try to be more frequent with my posting!

p.s. i am hating my eyebrows at the moment, so if anyone knows a good place to get them done, please share!!
